鯨落

死去的鯨魚屍體會沉在海底、隨著時間流逝慢慢被

分解，形成一個將近持續三十年的生態系，這個過

程被科學稱為Whale Fall。

我認為陸地上的建築在面對死亡時、結果也不應該

是直接了當的炸掉或剷平，他們應該用更有價值的

方式去延續都市的記憶、帶給周遭的環境一個改變

的契機，最後以一個有尊嚴的方式死亡。

因此，我選擇了即將被拆除的台南中國城這個都市

事件作為我的基地，用”拆除”去詮釋我認為巨大

量體的死亡過程應該有的姿態。

Whale fall, as the scientists called, is the process of a cetacean’s 

carcass that has fallen into the ocean, creating complex localized 

ecosystems fordecades. Therefore, I regard the buildings on the land should possess the same attitude as whale fall. They should inherit the memory of city from the 

last generation, bringing a chance of change to environment, and finally 

come to the death with dignity. As the result, I choose the urban event, 

the demolition of China town, to be the site, for displaying my ideal 

funeral of this huge volume.
