



Mask Architecture, the Murmur of Naked Rooms.

“面具”是名詞也是動詞。是表演也是暗藏。
六個月前,兩位地產中介女士(不知情)帶領我看的那些房間(辦公室),我還是難以釋懷。我發現好像每個房間總會用憂鬱失落的眼神向我低語著過去或未來。
身邊也總是聽到止不住的疲憊。
於是我開始想,在街道上所見的商業大廈閃亮外殼下究竟有什麽,還是只是一具空殼?
這個畢業設計搖擺於城市與房間,個人與集體,外表與内心,情緒與感知,記憶與遺忘,事實與虛構…之間。
在啓德郵輪碼頭正前方樹立一個巨大的只有正反面的建築——一個600米寬75米高的廣告牌來遮擋住啓德郵輪碼頭和它背後荒蕪的疫情隔離營。不想被記起的就不如把它遮擋掩蓋。
廣告牌有兩面。面向維多利亞港,豪華郵輪駛來的方向是毫無瑕疵的玻璃幕墻,但反轉背後,其實是一個又一個失落的空房間,低語著…

“Mask” is both a noun and a verb. It is performance as well as concealment.
The real estate agent ladies (unaware) showed me those rooms (offices) six months ago, but I still can’t get over them. I found that it seemed like every room would whisper to me with sad, lost eyes about the past or the future.
Around me I also constantly hear unending weariness.
So I started to wonder, under the shiny exteriors of the commercial building seen on the street, what is inside them, or are they just empty shells?
This graduation thesis oscillates between city and room, individual and collective, exterior and interior, emotion and perception, memory and oblivion, reality and fiction…
In front of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, erect an enormous building having only front and back facades – a 600-meter wide, 75 meter high billboard to block the view of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and the abandoned pandemic quarantine camp behind it. What we don’t want remembered might as well be concealed.
The billboard has two sides. Facing Victoria Harbor, the direction luxury cruise ships arrive from, is a flawless glass curtain wall. But turning around to the back, it is in fact room after empty, lost room, whispering…
