跳脫傳統以「邏輯」的方式做設計,嘗試使用「類比」,如同 Aldo Rossi 描述 Canaletto 的畫作“無法用言語描述”,歷史也不只是由言語描述將事實構成,還有許多事物,包括圖像、物、空間、記憶甚至精神。
利用手繪去「捕捉」「轉化」「重新解讀」將空間經驗、元素等理性化,並轉化成為空間生產的過程,創造出過去迪化街的空間氛圍,遠看是迪化街的建築元素,近看卻是熟悉又陌生,保留舊有的空間氛圍卻又是一座 21 世紀的新建築。
新興的建築卻擁有過去的氛圍,以至於傳承和復興過去臺灣的精神文化…

Breaking away from traditional “logical” design methods, we attempt to use “analogy.” Just as Aldo Rossi described Canaletto’s paintings as “indescribable with words,” history is not merely composed of “verbal descriptions” of facts. There are many other elements, including images, objects, spaces, memories, and even spirit.
By “Capturing,” “Transforming,” and “Reinterpretating,” we rationalize spatial experiences and elements, transforming them into the process of spatial production. This creates the spatial atmosphere of Dihua Street from the past. From a distance, it resembles the architectural elements of Dihua Street; up close, it appears both familiar and strange. It retains the old spatial atmosphere but is a new 21st-century building.
The emerging architecture possesses the atmosphere of the past, thus inheriting the cultural spirit of Taiwan’s history.
