My design envisions a park with three bridges, located along Chaitougang Creek in Tainan. The site, a triangular remnant of land, was once part of the river’s natural course—a forgotten fragment, severed and left behind after the river was straightened and channelized.
A natural river has no fixed form; it shifts and evolves over time, drawing life toward it. In the early 2000s, Chaitougang Creek was transformed into a concrete drainage channel, turning a once-living river into an urban specimen, gradually distancing people from its presence.
A waterway so deeply intertwined with time should hold equal value in both its past and present. The design begins with a simple yet deliberate gesture—a single incision along the old riverbed, followed by shifting the triangular land parcel ten meters outward. This subtle movement unlocks the site’s potential, allowing both the historic and contemporary identities of Chaitougang Creek to coexist and be read simultaneously.
Though the new park appears physically displaced from its original ground, it paradoxically restores the connection between the community and the river, while also accommodating flood management functions.
Within the park, three bridges serve as key interventions:
- The first bridge introduces a moment of contrast within the city’s large-scale riverfront infrastructure.
- The second bridge reconnects the two riverbanks, once divided by the straightened channel.
- The third bridge crosses a newly created gap, allowing people to experience the trajectory of the old river.
By revealing Chaitougang Creek’s layered identity, this project invites the city to rediscover its forgotten waterscape and reimagine its relationship with the river.

我的設計是一個擁有三座橋的公園,座落在台南柴頭港溪邊,基地為河流曾經流過的三角形畸零地,現況為截彎取直後被切割遺忘的一塊荒地。
自然的河沒有固定的形狀,河的一切隨著時間改變,萬物向之匯聚。2000年初,柴頭港溪改建成混凝土排水溝,台南市中出現一條河流的標本,人們卻逐漸敬而遠之。
一個與時間緊密連結的水體,他的過去與現在應乘載著同等的價值。設計希望透過一個簡單的動作——沿著舊河道劃了一刀,並將三角形地塊向外挪移了十公尺——打開基地的可能性,讓柴頭港溪的今與昔能同時被閱讀。
被拖開的新公園看似與原本的土地距離更遠,卻讓居民與河道的關係能夠重新被連結,同時乘載河道的治洪需求。
公園中,第一座橋創造了在河岸大尺度交通中的一抹異質;第二座橋連接了截彎取直後發展分歧的兩岸;第三座橋跨越一道新的縫隙,使舊河道的軌跡能夠被經驗。
