Apart from being a towering volume, landmarks could also be a medium to guide us to understand a city. Keelung has been disturbed by rain for many years, but it also presents a special appearance because of the rain. The rain is like a huge volume, defining new boundaries and creating new fields. Therefore, the space starts to flow, partly hidden and partly visible in the city. These magic scenes of rainy days are Keelung’s image in my mind. Letting inhabitants and visitors reacquaint Keelung on rainy days is what my thesis design attempts to achieve.
