The so-called “landscape” are those places that have been either well persevered since a long time ago or gulped down by the waves of urbanization without any chances of recovery. Unfortunately, most places with “landscapes” usually overlook the value or the uniqueness of what they possess. In my work, I target Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture as the subject to combine urban landscape and regional transportation, especially focusing on the distinctive landscapes around the area. By representing the value and uniqueness of the landscapes, the bus station that I have designed would increase the prosperity of the surrounding areas. It must be special for people to gain a completely different experience towards the landscape while waiting for the buses, making the idea of waiting for buses become more fun. |

作品說明Description (1000word) | ||
What do you think of when you think of a “mountain”? For example, when it comes to mountains in Japan, there is “Mt. Fuji”, which is popular as a landmark in Japan. Is it only such “mountains with high profile” and “mountains with high altitude” for us? Isn’t there a small mountain that is memorable and eye-catching? Isn’t there a mountain in the city of Sendai, Miyagi that captures the hearts of such people? Among the various mountains, there is one that should be noted. That is the mountain called “Mt. Taihaku” with an altitude of 312 meters. This Mt. Taihaku can be seen from various places in Sendai, but since it is a low mountain of 321m, it may not be possible to capture its shape depending on the place. So I wondered what tools would be available to reaffirm the landscape elements for the region. For example, the viewing platform, I am afraid that its existence itself may be perceived as something extraordinary Therefore, I focused on the function of a bus stop as a way for people to visit and stay continuously. Bus stops are scattered in various places, and I think that this proposal can gradually solve the problems of regional transportation that Sendai currently has. I designed all 15 types of bus stops. The smallest one is a bus stop with only benches and a roof, but if you sit there you can see Mt. Taihaku. If you go a little bigger bus stop that built in the area of birth, it is designed to resemble the scenery of a townhouse in the past. If you go upstairs, you can see Mt. Taihaku along with the current state of Oide. If you go on a bigger the bus stop that set up on the Arahama coast, it has a big roof. But in fact, by going up above this roof, you can get a panoramic view of Mt. Taihaku. And because of this height, it also become the hill in case of emergency. The original windbreak forest has disappeared, tree planting activities have been carried out, and I have t he image of this bus stop will eventually become familiar with the new windbreak forest. I think that it is not enough to use only small or only large objects, but these continuous bus stops will creating the continuity of the scenery of Mt. Taihaku, and become a base for re-recognizing the regional landscape. |
