少子化及教育的轉型，在偏鄉接受教育的孩童日亦漸增。正在實行實驗教育轉型的瑪陵國小以基地本身環境為主要概念，丘陵/多重連接的動線，壺穴/不同開口的形式融入建築設計中，將自然/建築/人三者的關係緊密地相連，還可以創造出各種不同大小的角落空間，這些空間有助於促進學生之間的交流，同時也為教師提供了更多元化的教學場景和可能性。
