Dusk till dawn of lofty wrinkles
Far away from the city, natural environment makes the element of recognizing time fade away. The situation of the place creates a certain kind of blank space, which makes our perception of time in such defamiliar scenes be shaped to the purest form. To start a new day, people have to go through the night. Take people “watching the sunrise” as an interface, people at night can rub the colorful scenes behind this blank space from the environment, measure the time with the landscape, and take action to re-understand nature through the scenarios in the night at different time.
Zhushan has been the most important scenic spot to watch the sunrise since the Japanese occupation. The value of it is not because its location on the easternmost side of Taiwan, but because of the connotation that it is surrounded by mountains, cleverly making the Yushan Mountain Range a foreground of the sunrise, forming a spectacular view of the sea of clouds. In addition, you can also watch the sunset, the starry sky and the milky way. Being here is not just watching the sun itself, but watching it emerge from the surrounding mountains on all sides, observing the sky due to the change of seasons, the sun rises and falls on different hills to identify the position. The landscape changes between day and night, and the texture gradually emerges or fades to perceive the time.
Destroyed by the earthquake, the building on the mountain top gave Zhushan the integrity of the whole night. The potential of dwelling will not disappear forever. Instead of being located in front of the beautiful scenery and taking advantage of it, we should define the relationship between man-made and nature, then re-enter the field.
