我的畢製是一個位在島嶼南端、通向大海的地景設計。
人們生老病死,地景隨著文明發展變化,唯獨凝望大海的景色始終如一。作為島國,先民用無數的故事描繪對海的眷戀,而當代人們更加在意自然資源所具備的經濟價值,新的世代謳歌科技,高樓拔地而起,便利的道路系統如同密布的血管,人們上天下海,似乎戰勝了一切。
基地選定在墾丁國家公園內的核電廠外圍海岸,藉由設計,把原先被科技佔據的土地還給自然,反轉一直以來以建築為主體的設計脈絡。在我的設計中,核電廠的拆除時間和生態系生長的時序交織,形成新的皈依,在這段30年的過程中利用植物與自然地景重新復育這片島嶼的邊緣地帶。
油畫是我對自然情感的展現,藉由一筆一畫的描繪,堆疊出屬於台灣熱帶海岸豐沛的色彩與紋理。比起強加功能完善的建築機能,我更想描繪一些我認為有機會發生的美好的事件。核電廠消失的半島上,出現了354公頃的空白,我希望利用漫長工期整理此處的地景,揉合回當地既有的生物群落,同時建設一條通向太海的通道,讓人的途徑以新的姿態重新步入這塊正在復甦的區域,以最簡單的手法,讓島嶼邊緣回歸最初的狀態。
My thesis project is a landscape design at the southern end of Taiwan.
As an island country, our ancestors’ love for the sea is depicted in countless stories, while the contemporary people are more concerned about the economic value of natural resources. The new generation praises science and technology, high-rise buildings rising from the ground, convenient road systems like densely covered blood vessels, and people seem to conquer everything in heaven and sea.
The site is located on the outer coast of the nuclear power plant in Kenting National Park. Through the design, the land previously occupied by humans is going to be returned to nature. The timing of the decommissioning of the nuclear power plant interweaves with the growth of the ecosystem to form a new conversion, using plants and natural landscapes to regenerate the edge of the island over 30 years.
Oil painting is my empathy for nature. By painting one by one, I stack the abundant colors and textures belonging to the tropical coast of Taiwan. Rather than imposing a well-functioning architecture, I wanted to portray something beautiful that I thought had a chance of happening. Plant disappeared on the peninsula of the 354 hectares of blank, I would like to take a long time to sort out the landscape here, close back to the local existing biomes, building a path to the channels of the sea at the same time, the way to let a person with a new attitude to enter the area of the recovery, with the most simple technique, let the island edge to return to the original state.
