步登公寓何去何從？

7、80年代迅速繁殖的都市地景到今日的搖搖欲墜，2023還能如何繼續往下走？本大設計（Grand Design）藉由街道尺度的紀錄、當代都更容積導向的批判、不同尺度對於步登公寓改造的實驗，來探究答案。基於聯棟公寓結構的公共性、公寓都市角色的突破，最終以一個跨街廓尺度的開放空間作為暫時的解答。其中的新舊交織、與市場/公園的接合、台北都市地景再現……等，會很有趣、很複雜、很混亂、很疲憊，但這將是這個都市前所未有的狀態！

What’s Next for the Walk-up Apartments?

From the rapid proliferation of urban landscapes in the 70s and 80s to the current precarious state, how can the city continue to evolve in 2023? Grand Design explores the answer through street-scale documentation, a critique of contemporary urban renewal with a focus on floor-area ratio, and experiments in the renovation of Walk-up Apartments at different scales. Based on the public nature of the linked-apartment structure and the breakthrough of the apartment’s urban role, the proposal ultimately offers a temporary solution in the form of an open space that spans across street blocks. The interplay of old and new, the connection with the market/park, and the reimagining of Taipei’s urban landscape will be fascinating, complex, chaotic, and exhausting, but this will be an unprecedented state for the city.
